                                           CHAPTER ONE

                                          THE BEGINNING

It's strange and a bit of a mystery all in itself, how life works out. At times you think you have it all figured out! The perfect plan that you have created to have the life you want or at least you think you want. Then in a blink of an eye or like the song I just listened too (in a New York minute) everything changes. I have seen it come and go in so many faces like a sea of lost dreams by people who spend the rest of their lives trying to turn back the hands of time, and trying to return back to the point in their own lives where it all went terribly wrong. For some such as myself have found a way to turn back those hands by creating our own time machines and using the written word of the power of memories of a time that has no end. As we are not able to change the events of our own pasts! We share our time machines with others in hopes to change their futures and to give them the chance to make right in their lives where others have failed. This particular time machine I call Eclipsed, and we are just about to open the door to the first week of December in nineteen eighty five to a young man's life. If you listen closely, you can almost hear his voice as he is about to share his story with us.

I had been working on a play for Christmas with some of my classmates. After an hour of rehearsal, our teachers decided to let us take a break. My friend Donna who was also in the play walked over to me and asked, “Jimmy, do you think you could help me rehearse some of my lines? I don‘t think I have them all memorized yet.” I was playing a reporter in the play so my part wasn‘t too hard to remember.
I looked at her and said “Sure I can do that! “ Then we walked over by the window and sat down at a table.
I was looking down at the rehearsal sheets when I heard someone ask to speak to Donna and I.

As I looked up the most beautiful girl I had ever seen was walking over to Donna and I. Donna and the mystery girl started talking about things they needed to do after school. Then she looked over at me and said, “Oh I’m sorry, Jimmy this is my sister Rose! She’s going to be in the play with us!”

I stood up and smiled then said, “Hello, it’s nice to meet you Rose!”
Rose smiled and said, “Hi Jimmy it’s nice to meet you too!”
As I looked into her amazing hazel eyes, a feeling I had never known came over me like a giant wave crashing down all around me. I couldn’t explain it, but you know that strange feeling they say you get when you fall in love for the first time? Well that feeling was definitely more than there! I had liked girls before, but this seemed to be something more. I tried to come up with reasons of why I was feeling this way, but I couldn’t! The same question circulated through my mind over and over. Why is a girl who I had just met making me feel so nervous and shy?
This was something new to me, something I hadn’t felt before.
I thought to myself, she must be an angel, because I had never seen a girl so beautiful before and when she spoke her words were so soft. I thought to myself, god has sent me an angel from heaven to love!

After a week of seeing Rose around the school, I finally got up enough courage to ask her if she would go out with me. Rose said yes and we started seeing each other as a couple.
For the first couple of weeks we just talked on the phone and seen each other in school. As we worked on the play and finally recorded it for the rest of the school to see, time passed and Christmas break was here. Rose and I had been talking about me coming over to meet her parents over the break, but unfortunately that wasn’t going to happen.

I                        SNEAK PEAK

 FROM  CHAPTER TWO           THE MOVE

My dad was already up and around the house. I walked out of my room and headed downstairs. As I walked into the living room he looked at me and said, “Good, you’re up! I need you to do some stuff for me today instead of going anywhere.” I looked at him and in a firm voice said, “Dad I told you earlier this week that Rose was moving to Florida today!”
“Well than you better hurry up and do the things I need you to do, he said, that is if you want to see her before she leaves!”
He kept me at the house until nine and then I finally said, “Dad I’m going! It takes a long time to get there on bike and I don’t want to miss her, I promised her that I would be there to see her off.!” He shook his head back and forth and said, “I don’t think that you’ll make it by noon, but go ahead anyway.”

I took off and pushed every mile harder than I had ever pushed before. By the time I got to Rose’s house it was twelve ten. The family was in the car and Rose was just getting in when I pulled up over the top of the hill. She got back out of the car and walked over to me and gave me a hug, “I was really hoping you were going to make it in time.”
“I’m sorry I’m late, I said, my dad was trying to keep me at the house doing things.” She smiled and put her hand in mine, “Well I’m glad you’re here now so I get to see you before we go. Did you put my new address in a safe place so you don’t lose it?”
“Yes I did, and I even made some extra copies just in case.”
Her dad spoke up,” Jimmy I know you just got here, but we really need to get on the road.” Those were the words that I was not looking forward to hearing anyone say. I looked at Rose and could feel my eyes begin to water and said, “I love you so much and I’m going to miss you more than anything in this whole world.

”Rose tried smiling and with tears in her eyes said,” I know, me too! It’s just not fair, but maybe, just maybe we will find a way to keep us together.” I walked with Rose over to the car and by now, both of us had tears in our eyes.

Rose turned and squeezed me tight and softly said, “Please don’t ever forget about me!” I pulled her close and whispered, “How can I forget the girl who taught me how to care and how to love. You are now and have always been and always will be my one and only true love. Besides you never know how far I might be willing to go for you.”
Rose asked “What do you mean how far you will go for me?” Now, I don’t know what made me say it, but I looked into her eyes and said, “Just don’t be too surprised, if someday I should show up at your front door.”
Rose smiled, “That would be real nice if you did that.”
Her dad spoke up again, “Kids I’m sorry, but we really do need to get going!” I opened the door for Rose and she gave me another hug. With tears in her eyes she said, “Jimmy I love you and I know you won’t forget about me, because I won’t forget you!”
One last time I said, “Anything for you, Rose!” I gave her a kiss on the cheek and she gave me one back then got in the car and I closed the door and they drove off. I just stood there and watched Rose as she waved goodbye out the window and then the car disappeared out of site. I turned and looked at their house for a minute and took a deep breath. Then an overwhelming feeling of sadness seemed to come down over me. Tears started falling like rain running down my face and I couldn‘t stop them.

FROM  CHAPTER TWENTY THREE         SUDDEN IM PACT

He shook his head, “I hate to say it, but either something good is going to happen or things are going to get a lot worse! I guess all you can do is try to think for good things to happen!”
“Things are looking a little bleak right now, I said, but I’ll try anyway and maybe I’ll get lucky.”
Then he said, “Well I’m going to bed ,so I’ll talk to you tomorrow after work. Maybe you will get some good luck tonight who knows, goodnight.”
“Yeah I sure hope so, goodnight” and then he went to bed and Rose and I talked a little longer. We walked back to her room and she said, “The lady I babysit for came home early.”

I said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t come a little sooner, but you said eight and then it started raining so I drove slower, I‘m sorry I guess I just should have come sooner.”
She said, “Its ok, I didn’t get here until ten minutes before you did because she had some friends with her and we were talking!”
“Oh, well I guess you stayed busy then since I was running behind!”
“I did, one of the guys asked if I had a boyfriend and I told him I did! I just sat there and didn’t say anything. Something seemed to be a little off. I just tried to think positive as I listened to her tell me about this conversation she had with this other guy.
He was joking with me saying I should go out with him and it was funny!”
I wasn’t thinking clearly and I didn’t want to start a fight with Rose. I knew what this guy was doing and I was just a little ticked off with the situation. Especially since she said she told him she has a boyfriend and that being me. I looked at Rose and said, “Uh it’s getting late so I should probably get going!”
“Ok I guess if you need to” she said then she walked me out and it was still raining out. The sky was pitch black and even the street lights seemed to be giving off less light than usual.
She said, “Jimmy I have a weird feeling, please be careful” I put on my headphones and helmet, walked out to my bike and started it up and just took off without saying another word.
I was getting angry pretty fast and wasn’t totally focused. I got half way to my house and felt like I had treated Rose bad so I turned around to go analogize to her. I wanted to tell her I was sorry for just leaving the way I did, but I never made it even a tenth of a mile when it happened!

I turned the bike around, lightening flashed a few times and the rain started coming down even harder, and I could barely see the road! It didn’t matter to me, all that did was that I had been short with Rose. I needed to go apologize for being that way to her and make things right. Another guy was trying to take my place in her eyes and I didn’t want that to happen. Too many bad things were happening; I Just couldn’t let this happen too!
I picked up a little speed and a bright flash of lightening lit up the night sky. The flash was almost blinding then everything was dark again! A car came speeding around the dark curve!
I think he was temporarily blinded by the flash of bright lightening and came onto my side of the road. I swerved to miss him and did, but the road was slick and I tried to correct myself and stop, but It was too late! I was in a skid and going down quickly. I tried to brace myself but then, “Impact”!

I am 82 years old and have lived through many things. I read quite a bit and at first when I first started reading this book, I thought it was ok. By the middle of the book the Author switches things up a little. He makes you as the reader a part of the story by triggering memories in your own life with the mention of a word or places , music, and movies. This is a very powerful story and I can tell you this is no ordinary Author. His words and this story have touched my life and helped me remember the things in life that matter most. I know this Author will continue with his words and I cannot wait for his next masterpiece. I found a quote he wrote on a website : TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND IS THE TRUE ADVENTURE! " If you want to know what he means by this quote then you simply must read the book Eclipsed destination unknown. Thank you and god bless.

" This book is very powerful and breath taking It seems to start of just another story, but the deeper you get into the book you find yourself not just the reader, but the Author makes you a character in the middle of all that is happening. There were parts were I found my heart pounding so hard in excitement and in others I could feel all of the love, the sadness and so much more. This truly is the story of what life is all about. One of the best things I enjoyed about this book, beside it being a true story is the Author lets the reader decide how the story ends and I am glad he did it this way. Because of this book I now have a new outlook on my own life and a new adventure of my own on the way. Quotes
